Laura is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Psychology with distinction in three years' time. She then attended Marymount University, where she earned her Masters of Art in School Counseling. In 2021, Laura completed the College Counseling program through University of California-Los Angeles.
Laura has served as a School Counselor in Loudoun County for the past ten years, which has given her a unique perspective of student needs and allows her to network with College Admissions Counselors across a broad spectrum of schools. She is a professional member of ASCA, the American School Counselor Association.
Laura currently lives in Loudoun County with her husband, two children and English Bulldog. In her free time, you can find Laura outdoors as much as possible! Hiking, kayaking, and running are all favorite pastimes.
Erica simplifies the complex application process for her students and families through college visits, extensive research, and 12 years of experience. She served as a High School Counselor in Loudoun County for nine years. She has learned that the best part of this role is getting students excited about their futures.
Erica studied Psychology at Longwood University, where she first entered the world of college admissions. On the weekends, you could find her speaking to prospective students or helping undecided freshmen choose their major. She earned her Master of Education in School Counseling at Old Dominion University, where she served as an Admissions Counselor for two years, evaluating applications and working with prospective students and families. In 2021, Erica completed the College Counseling program through University of California-Los Angeles.
In Erica’s free time, you can catch her hiking a trail near her Bluemont home or spending a weekend at Smith Mountain Lake. She has three dogs that she treats like children!
Laura and Erica have partnered together as High School Counselors in Loudoun County since 2014. Together, they have instructed Student Development courses at Northern Virginia Community College and continue to deepen their understanding of the admissions process through college tours and admissions connections.
Jack is a graduate of Virginia Tech where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree before continuing on to earn his Master of Education in Counselor Education from the University of Virginia. Jack also holds post-graduate specialist certifications in the areas of College Counseling & Career Counseling through Lindenwood University.
Jack has worked as a School Counselor in Loudoun County for the past four years serving students & their families in traditional, distance, IB, & Magnet school settings. Having worked for a San Francisco based tech company prior to his work in education, Jack has a particular passion for working with students pursuing majors & careers in STEM fields. His professional network includes membership with ASCA, the American School Counselor Association and NACAC, National Association of College Admission Counseling.
In his free time, Jack is an avid trail runner with his dog as his running companion & enjoys being a personal chef to his wife.
With over 17 years of experience in the fields of high school counseling and college admissions, Alison has served as a School Counselor in Loudoun County, VA for the past three years. Prior to that, she worked in Washington County, Maryland for 14 years. Throughout her career, Alison has developed a special focus on helping students navigate the college application process, having worked closely with high schoolers for over eight years.
Alison is a graduate of Frostburg State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She went on to earn her Master of Science degree in School Counseling at McDaniel College.
Alison resides in Harpers Ferry, WV with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys cheering on her daughters in their respective sports and exploring new hiking trails around the area.
Cory has dedicated his work over the last decade to college access, career choice and postsecondary success, working to build systems, culture and climate for college and career readiness.
Cory has taught at Harvard University's Graduate School of Education, UCLA 's College Counseling certificate program and was former District Manager of Postsecondary Advising for Baltimore City Public Schools. Currently, Cory serves as the Senior Coordinator of College Counseling at SEED School of Maryland, ensuring all students have access to and succeed in college. With experience across K-12 and higher education, Cory is committed to equitable access and student-centered advising. His work blends research, practice and policy to improve postsecondary outcomes.
Originally from Pawtucket, Rhode Island, he received his Masters in Counselor Education from Southern University and A&M College and completed his doctorate at Northeastern University in Education with a concentration in Curriculum, Teaching, Leading and Learning, culminating in a dissertation titled "Perceptions of preparedness: The effects of postsecondary counseling.
Kim is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Master of Education in School Counseling. She has worked as a High School Counselor in Loudoun County for 15 years and also gained invaluable experience as a School Counselor in Los Angeles, California. Her work in both public and private institutions from coast to coast gives her a valuable perspective on the complex admissions process.
In Kim’s free time, she enjoys supporting high school football, where her husband is the head coach. She has two sons, Jack and Sam, who attend Virginia Tech and James Madison University. As a family, they enjoy spending time at the beaches of Cape Cod and Southport, North Carolina.
While the college application process can appear intricate, Maria works with students and families to create a guided and enjoyable experience. She is a graduate of James Madison University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She then attended George Mason University, where she earned her Masters of Education in Counseling and Development with a concentration in School Counseling.
Maria has served as a School Counselor in Loudoun County for the past six years. Maria’s prior experience as a College and Career Specialist included working with college admissions representatives and connecting students to college and career readiness resources. She enjoys the exploration process and working with students individually to best match their strengths and passions to their future goals.
In Maria’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring all that Loudoun County has to offer. She also loves to engage her creative side by tackling new design/DIY home projects.
